Joint Injections

We offer joint injections therapy for painful joints. These types of injections are commonly used anti-inflammatory medications delivered directly to the structure causing your pain. They are valuable procedures for managing musculoskeletal conditions.

Corticosteroid injections can be intraarticular, periarticular, or around soft tissue structures such as bursae or nerves to relieve pain, reduce inflammation and improve mobility.

Areas we can help with:

  • Wrist: in tenosynovitis or carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Elbow epicondylitis

  • Shoulder (rotator cuff syndrome, subacromial pain syndrome, impingement)

  • lateral Hip pain (trochanteric bursitis)

  • Osteoarthritis of many joints, thumb, shoulder and knee.

  • Rheumatoid arthritis (eg intraarticular shoulder injections)

  • Crystal arteriopathies (eg Gout, pseudogout)

    Risks

Steroid injections complications are rare and we will discuss the benefit versus the risk before the [procedure with you.

Patients with diabetes who receive steroid injections should closely monitor their blood glucose for two weeks following injection as they can effect glucose control.
